Miss Saunders-Cross took her Focus Group on a visit to the British Library on Monday 28th January to take part in a ‘Make a Book’ workshop. The children thoroughly enjoyed finding ‘treasures’ in the Treasures Gallery – they saw pages written in real gold writing and books with locks on them! They each made their own book by sewing the pages together using a technique that has been used for hundreds of years.
They then got to decorate the front covers. They also visited the Anglo-Saxon exhibition where they saw some very special artefacts, some of which were 2000 years old! One bible on display had a gold cover and was covered in precious jewels, which was 1500 years old. Wow!
